There are a few simple rules to follow when cutting your picture prints for decoupage:

1. Each of the enclosed sheets will form a "layer" of your decoupage picture. The bottom layer of the picture will consist of one complete print, which you should mount on to a piece of card. We suggest using water based PVA adhesive or double sided tape. Hot or solvent based adhesives should NOT be used with any Dufex foil materials.
   
   
2. In each subsequent layer you should cut away those parts of the print that you consider to be in the "background", or less important, gradually increasing the amount that you cut away with each successive layer. On the final layer, you should be left with only a few elements - those which are most in the foreground and which you consider to be most important.
   
   
3. Now it's time to start cutting. We recommend using a sharp craft knife or scissors that have been especially designed for decoupage. You can use foam pads or silicone glue to stick each layer of your print on to the one below.

Using the picture above as a guide we decided to cut each layer to include the following elements:

Layer 1: The whole picture (as above) which is mounted on to a piece of card.

Layer 2: The moon, castle, all the hills, the flowers and the fairies in the sky and foreground. (i.e the sky itself is cut away)

Layer 3: The castle, some of the hills, the flowers and the fairies in the foreground.
(We included the fairies in the background too)

Layer 4: The fairies, a little less of the hill and the flowers in the foreground.
(We left out the hills)

Layer 5: The two fairies and one main flower in the foreground.

We used a combination of 3D foam pads & silicone glue to attach all the layer together.

Once finished the picture is best displayed in a box frame behind glass.
